Chemical Peels

A chemical peel lifts away dirt, oils, dead skin cells and other impurities leaving the skin smooth and radiant.

The chemical solution is applied to the top layer of the skin. The solution dissolves the “glue” that holds our dead skin cells to the skin, shedding off as these are no longer necessary to our skin health. The removal of dead, crusty, dull cells reveals new, fresh, and radiant skin cells.

With consistent treatments and proper home care, chemical peels will refine fine lines and wrinkles, smooth acne scarring and texture, reverse sun damage and signs of aging, lighten dark spots, and shrink enlarged pores.

MY STORY

“I was so surprised when I came across an old photo from 2021! My skin has changed so much since then—and for the better! The dullness is gone, and the sun/dark spots have faded completely away all thanks to the right daily skincare routine used at home and regular professional treatments.

What really shocked me was that I didn’t even realize how much had changed until I saw these pictures. It reminded me just how important consistency and patience are in any skincare journey. If you’re feeling stuck with your routine, I’d love to help you find something that works for you and fits easily into your daily life!”

Chemical Peels can benefit the skin in many ways.

  • Acne scars: Chemical peels will help to lightent dark acne scarring over time and can help reduce the appearance of acne scars by removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover.

  • Sun damage: Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of sunspots and age spots.

  • Melasma: Chemical peels can help with brown patches on sun-exposed areas caused by hyperpigmentation.

  • Uneven skin tone: Chemical peels can help even out skin tone by lightening dark spots.

FAQs

  • Chemical Peels come in all different types of acids, percentages, and variations. Each with their own healing process.

For your first peel at Be True Beauty Co., a lower percentage solution will be used making it likely your skin will not peel, but instead at the very most, flake for several days afterwards. Each individual's results vary and some do not flake or peel at all.

With the proper skin care regimen at home and repeated peels, higher percentage solutions are used in which your skin is likely to peel or flake heavily from.

  • To ensure your skin responds positively to the treatment. If the skin is not properly prepped and/or too high of a strength of peel is applied too soon before skin is ready for more advanced treatments, unwanted results can occur such as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), scarring, and more.

This is why proper home care is important prior to beginning a peel series. Nichole will review and ensure you are using the correct products before beginning a series of peel treatments to ensure your skin is properly prepped in order to gain maximum results from a peel series.

  • Peels performed at Be True Beauty Co. are never meant to be painful. Nichole will check in with you during the process to make sure your skin is tolerating it well. You may feel a slight tingling, stinging or itchy sensation, but it's usually mild and brief, only lasting a few minutes at most.  Each individual's experience will vary based on skin sensitivity and prior use of active ingredients and chemical peels.

  • The frequency of chemical peels depends on the type of peel, your skin concerns, skin sensitivity and your skin's response to the treatment.

The chemical peels used at Be True Beauty Co. are light peels meaning less downtime yet still effective.

For maximum results in most cases, it is recommended to do in a series of 3-6 peels each 4-6 weeks apart for maximum results.

It’s important to make sure to always wait until your skin is fully healed before getting another peel.

  • No, you should avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks after a chemical peel as your skin is significantly more sensitive to the sun and could become irritated. If you must go outside, wear a wide-brimmed hat ensuring exposed skin is protected, and reapply sunscreen frequently.

  • Nourish, Soothe, and Protect.
